A collaboration tool for multiple workflows, including customer relationship management (CRM), project management, software development, human resources, marketing, and more, it began life in 2014 as a tool for teamwork.
What do we truly mean when we claim that we are not a project management tool? The most useful tool you’ll likely find is monday.com; it serves as the Swiss Army knife of management for everyone.
Certainly, Monday.com can be used to manage all of your tasks, but it can also be used as a CRM, to oversee marketing initiatives, bug reports, client projects, and video production. There could be hundreds of uses for it, and we’ve seen groups use it for a wide range of purposes, such as aeroplane engineers and lesson plan teachers.
I wanted to clarify how Monday.com differs from other products on the market. Many find it indispensable and replace many of their existing tools, including email, Excel, and other project management applications, thanks to a few significant differences.
You must put processes first rather than tasks.
The team members and managers need more information than a static checkbox stating if a task is “completed” or “not completed” to know where things stand. There is almost always more to it than that. Consider “one day late.” What about “I’m awaiting a response before I continue”? These actual states are still discussed outside of the tool in threads, meetings, and conversations because they are not incorporated into any project management software. Since we are aware that nothing is ever this easy, Monday.com is all about the procedure. Need something visual, not text-based
Text functions most effectively while you’re curled up with a good book. You must read everything you see in a text-based system—and they are all text-based—to understand what is happening. It takes time, and if you’re busy, you can miss some of it. Monday.com is a graphic website. You don’t need to read anything because the coloured areas just appear, letting you know where everything are right away.
In team management, visuals are wonderfully powerful since they let you set procedures and communicate without using words. People can see what is going on in your office if you display Monday.com on the screen. The pictures are potent, universally understood, and unambiguous.
Instead of using a hierarchy, you must use a grid.
In the early days of Monday.com, we spoke with hundreds of managers and discovered that every single one of them used grids or spreadsheets for high-level management. People do not think in hierarchies, but in networks. We all use it as a natural, reliable method of information organisation. Because of this, we designed the Monday.com board as a grid with little to no hierarchy.
The vast majority of project management systems largely rely on hierarchy. Hierarchies are extremely challenging to manage, and there are always a variety of ways to construct them. It’s perplexing.
